Why choose these classes?
Read our guestbook comments below and consider these few reasons:
- These classes allow YOU to CHOOSE exactly what you learn and when! Many themed cookery classes do not specify which recipes and skills you will actually do on the day. Here you have TOTAL CONTROL over what you do – just read the information and choose!
- Small groups – working closely with the chef and assistants for maximum learning
- GREAT VALUE LEARNING – this is targeted learning where you have hands on experience of the skills that you want to learn [it is not all about demonstrations]
- I teach specific skills or recipes PROPERLY with all associated knife skills and cooking techniques covered every time
- Classes taught by Cordon Bleu Qualified Chef with over 5 years experience running cookery classes. I have undertaken varied and professional training in the UK and abroad [particularly India]
JUST A FEW GUESTBOOK COMMENTS – from people who have done a few of my classes
Hi Sarah…..I am writing to say that Andrew thoroughly enjoyed the Indian Cookery lesson on Saturday, he was really pleased with everything that he made and he thought everything tasted great. He said it was the best present I ever bought him. Thanks again. From Cath [who sent her husband an indian course for his Christmas present]
Hi Sarah. I really enjoyed the course. The whole day was so well planned. My favourite part was preparing the squid, what a fascinating creature. I have tried out a couple of the recipes on my husband, all seemed to go very well! I learnt so much especially how to cook fish by “touch”. I would absolutely love to do some more of your courses. Thank you again for a wonderful day. Emily who came on a Fish Cookery Course
Dear Sarah, Thanks a lot for saturday, it was everything I expected and more. I’ve consequently gone out and spent a small fortune online buying up all sorts of dried chillies! I look forward to the street food course in April. Best Wishes, Leah who came on Cooking with Chillies and Street Food!
Hi Sarah, We would both like to thank you for a really enjoyable day. We loved your personalised approach and appreciated the hands on aspect of the course – it was more than we expected and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Please keep us informed of future courses – especially knife skills. Kind regards, Michelle and Paul who came on a Fish Cookery Course
I have taken three priceless things from this course; confidence, knowledge and inspiration. The course equipped me with the confidence to cook any fish, I have started trying fish that wasn’t even on the course! A massive amount of knowledge was gained, much of what went beyond fish, such as tasting and the different intensity of flavours of produce such as lemon and chillies. Most of all, I have been inspired to cook fish all the time, I have started eating 4-5 portions a week! Abdulkadir who came on a Fish Cookery Course
The only criticism I have was that there was too much food! However I am weak willed and ate far too much!!! Many thanks for a great time. From Grahame [who attended an indian course]
Hi Sarah. Thank you very much for the course on Friday I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found the hands on element extremely useful and the continued interaction with you and the other attendees made it even more enjoyable I also liked the fact there were small numbers attending made it seem a very personal experience. Your tips on how to do various things / what oils to cook them in and why as well as the way things should be cooked was great! Thanks again. Dave who came on a Fish Cookery Course
What a superb course. Truly exceptional value for money and far more to the day than I expected. Sarah is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about food and has a wonderful way of imparting her knowledge to you. She works hard to ensure all delegates are involved in all aspects of the cooking process and the fact that you get to eat and discuss all the foods you cook is a real bonus. I would definitely recommend her course to anyone regardless of ability. Well done Sarah, you really do deserve the accolade. Thank you. Suzanne who came on a Seasonal Eating Cookery Course
Hi Sarah, The course was fantastic, and your style being relaxed made the whole experience very enjoyable. The day, enabled me to learn new things, such as tasting the ingredients, building up the flavours gradually, improving my knife skills and boosted my confidence greatly to try more things with vegetables. We are even planning on going out to trinity farm, to look into organic vegetables. All in all It was a suburb gift, and I will becoming back on another course. Thanks for everything. Regards, Paul who came a Seasonal Eating Cookery Course
I have to admit to being a bit nervous when I arrived but the warm and enthusiastic welcome I received put me at ease and set the tone for the day. The atmosphere was relaxed and Sarah was an inspiring teacher. It’s a very hands on course with everyone mucking in and helping. I felt I could ask Sarah anything and have a go at everything. The recipes were clear and very tasty nothing to complicated. One thing which really struck me was the fantastic organisation which had gone into the day. We were never just standing about wondering what to do, everything we needed was ready for us. Thanks for a lovely day and some amazing recipes which I have already made at home. Many thanks to you and Jon for a really enjoyable day on Saturday, you made me feel very welcome and I can’t fault the course I really enjoyed all the food and will definitely be giving the Sea Bass and Jerk chicken a whirl with Jaqui and friends. Thanks again and I’ll spread the word amongst friends as they’d all really like the course. From Neil [who came on a Cooking with Chillies course]
Many thanks for your patience on Saturday. Despite trying to sabotage the recipes by my incompetence I was very impressed with both the range and flavour that we managed to turn out. In particular I very much liked the originality of the Pimientos de PadrĂ³n, the intense heat and flavour of the rum soaked chicken, and was totally won over by the chocolate chilli cheesecake. From Russ [who attended a Cooking with Chillies course]
Really enjoyed the course yesterday. Already told at least half a dozen people about it. Just devoured a chilli choc cheesecake and it was certainly more on the naughty side of hot compared to yesterday (probably down to the numbing effect). Never the less it\’s definitely good to go for the dinner party, as are the crevettes which were superb. Let me know when you arrange the East Midlands chilli spectacular.
